Contract Blinds Awarded New Victoria Contract Win

Contract Blinds will supply blinds to the £185 million New Victoria project.

 

The Greater Manchester based window blind specialists have been awarded the contract to work with principal contractors Vinci on the prestigious site.

 

Muse Developments will create a mixed use project next to Manchester’s Victoria Station which will include more than 520 new homes and 150,000 sq ft office space.

 

Contract Blinds have initially installed window blinds to site cabins for VINCI Construction and will begin work on the main building once it is finished.

 

Iconic Building

 

Contract Blinds Managing Director Dean Mellor, said: “This is a fantastic project to be part of as this will be an iconic building for Manchester City Center.

 

“It is a huge project which includes some 450,000 sq ft of residential development and will be a real statement piece in a hugely important part of Manchester.

 

“The building is adjacent to the Victoria train station and will include retail, office space and magnificent new homes.

 

Window Blinds

 

“We have installed window blinds to the site cabins and will return to work on the main building once work is complete.”

 

The residential and retail phase has been funded by Pension Insurance Corporation which will also include a state-of-the-art gym, rooftop garden, communal lounge and cycle storage.

 

The first phase of the project is due to be completed by  and is supported by Network Rail, Manchester City Council and Homes England.

 

Landmark Scheme

 

Gary Bowker, regional director for the North West at VINCI Construction UK, said: “VINCI Construction UK are absolutely delighted to be delivering this landmark scheme with Muse and it’s been a great team effort throughout the pre-construction stage to finalise the design, agree the contract and secure the project start on site date.

 

“VINCI will utilise our key skills in civil engineering, railways interface and high-rise construction on this project as we further develop our position within the Manchester market.”


The scheme is expected to create around 40 new jobs and employ some 650 people during the construction phase, due to be completed by 2024.
